Not Paramount Recording Studio
A recording studio in Lewes, UK. Managed by session drummer Chris Boot.
Services
Drum tracking
Not Paramount's primary service is recording drums remotely.
Here's how it works: You send me both a version of your track without any drums, and a version with demo drums (if you have it). I'll provide one comped drum take. I typically provide 5 individual drum stems but can provide extra stems if required (such as close mics on toms, hi-hats, room mics or even heavily processed character stems).
I'll need the BPM of the track and what sample rate/bit depth you'd like me to record at. I include 2 revisions in my initial quote.
I can use any combination of drums and microphones (see gear list below) to get the right sound for your music at a competitive price-point.
Production
If you've got initial ideas for songs that need developing or if your music is written and ready and you'd like a second opinion whilst you record, NP is a great, quiet place on the Sussex Downs to get to work.
There are audio tie-lines into a more acoustically-open room next door, which houses an upright piano and a Philicorda Organ. The combination of this room with the dry main studio room offers plenty of options.
Whether it's making a single, EP or full length album, using the various gear here, we can get your music ready for release.
Mixing/Mastering
Mixing services can either be on a song by song basis, an EP or a full length album. Mastering services are available too, to get your tracks ready for release.
(Sending references is always helpful).
Audio editing & Voiceover
Whether it’s working through existing audio to refine and balance or using the soundproofed room and microphones on offer to record voiceovers for your Podcast/Audiobook/Commercial needs, Not Paramount has got you covered.
About
Drum recording and audio production
Not Paramount is a modest residential studio in the South Downs of England. Professionally designed by studio builder Barny Barnicott. The main room has a production suite on one end and a small live space on the other. The space is heavily treated acoustically, which is perfect for dead 70s drums and voiceovers. Audio tie-lines connect to the second, more acoustically open space.
